Resveratrol

You have probably already heard of the idea that to help promote optimal cardiovascular health, you should drink a glass of red wine each day. The basis behind this thought is that red wine contains a chemical called resveratrol, a natural phenol, which is a plant-based organic compound that has natural antioxidant properties to help protect the plant against harmful pathogens.

Resveratrol has been widely promoted in the health industry due to its potential for promoting health in areas such as:

There is currently no recommended daily dosage for resveratrol, although research dosages are anywhere from 20mg to 100mg per day.
